Who are VMware?
Put simply, VMware are the pioneers of enterprise (large-scale) virtualization. VMware developed the technology that allows companies around the world to consolidate many hundreds of physical servers into virtualised instances, which then run on much less physical equipment. Why should I be interested?
You've probably heard of the "cloud" (I'm not talking about the fluffy ones in the sky), it's THE buzz word of the past 2-3 years. Cloud computing is set to be the biggest area of growth to hit IT, ever, period! A key component to cloud computing is the ability to reduce your IT footprint or "virtualize" servers and applications to allow them to be hosted and accessible from anywhere in the world.
